KENNEBECASIS BAY - ROTHESAY
Rothesay is 2 miles beyond Renforth, offering shelter from southern and eastern winds and the facilities of the Rothesay Yacht Club. A flashing red light buoy marks Troop Reef on the east side of Kennebecasis Bay a mile west of Rothesay, and Rothesay is marked with a fairway light buoy [MoA] off Hendersons Point and a flashing white light [4sec] shown on a skeleton tower at the end of the wharf. In the village of Rothesay are banks, supermarkets and fast food restaurants. At the north-east end of Long Island, a small islet, Mather Island, is all but connected to Long Island by a rock breakwater with a narrow gap in the middle, which also provides shelter for anchoring. Beyond Mather Island, the water continues deep for 4.5 miles to low, sandy Oliver Point.
