2010 Harbour News

As stated in the Club Rules: Rothesay Yacht Club moorings and the placement of all members moorings shall be under the control of the Harbour Master.

Terry Wilson will serve on the Board of Directors as Harbour Master for the 2009/2010 term. Should any information be required or concerns need addressing, contact the RYC Harbour Master.

It is very important in regard to safety, due diligence of the Board of Directors and individual members that moorings are inspected and properly maintained on a scheduled basis.

Understanding the importance of having a safe harbour and giving members a peace of mind that moorings are in good condition, owners of moorings that have not been inspected since 2006 will be contacted and advised that their mooring is scheduled to be inspected.

Should a mooring owner feel they no longer have a need for a mooring they can inform us prior to the inspection. Should the inspection determine that any chain, swivels or other components require replacement, the owner will be responsible for the associated costs. The determined amounts will be billed to the Members account.  The charge per mooring lift is fifty dollars ($50).

Our objective this year is to finish inspecting the remaining members’ moorings that were not inspected last year. When completed all moorings should be inspected there after every 3 years.

There will be an inspection schedule and price list for materials posted on the RYC web site at a later date.

Should any members have any questions on placing a mooring in the RYC leased water lots please feel free to contact the Harbour Master.

We are continuing to look into the installation of sacrificial anodes to the sheet piling on the wharf.
