2008 Membership Information

The four (4) membership categories are:
• FAMILY – Boat owner, spouse and children enrolled in full –time school as of
June 1st.
• ASSOCIATE - Any person over 19 years as of June 1st who will be a social
member and will not have a boat at the club.
• STUDENT – Any person under 23 years as of June 1st who is a full time student
having a boat under 20 feet and a motor less than 10 HP, which is kept ashore in
a designated area.
• RACING -A nonmember participating in more than three (3) races shall be
required to hold an Associate membership.
· The entrance fee is $640 for Family .Memberships. The entrance fee is due upon joining RYC. A prorated fee is available for members returning within two years of leaving the Club.
· Moorings are the responsibility of individual members; however, RYC exercises control over placement to avoid crowding. Please contact the Harbour Master (Paul Creamer) to arrange for mooring placement or inspection. Note the cost of an inspection is $50 (plus HST).
· Berths are available at a cost of $34 (plus HST) per beam foot for end-on and per running foot for side-on. Contact the Director for Berths and Docks for berths prior to May 1. Berths are not transferable and revert to RYC if given up. Berths are held for the previous season’s occupant until May 1at which time open berths are reassigned on a “first come, first served” basis.
· Shore power is available for $85 (plus HST) per season. The fee is applicable to people who use power overnight. Occasional daytime use is included in the membership fee.
· Berths & Docks – assemble the floating docks after launch and removal of docks after haul out.
· Buildings & Grounds – repairs / maintenance to RYC’s buildings and spring/fall cleanup of club property.
· Harbour – maintenance / placement of moorings.
· Junior Sailing – all aspects of Junior Sailing program including racing and junior sail boat maintenance.
· Launch & Haulout – assist owners in launch & haulout of boats
· Powerboat – responsible for the interests of the powerboat club members.
· Sailing – responsible for the interests of the sailing members of the club, including racing.
· Social – organization of RYC’s numerous social events during and subsequent to the boating season. In addition, notify members of upcoming events by telephone and/or email.
· RYC Membership gives children enrolled in the Junior Sailing Program a fee discount of $20.
CYA DUES
· Members are encouraged to join the CYA by filling in the appropriate space on the form.
HST
· All fees are subject to HST. Please add the 13% HST to the fee calculation in the space provided.
