118 Years of Sailing...
Founded in 1907, the Rothesay Yacht Club has been at the heart of sailing on the Kennebecasis for over a century. For 118 years, our club has been a place where generations have come together to learn, race, and enjoy the water. Rooted in tradition yet always looking forward, RYC continues to foster a welcoming community for sailors of all ages and skill levels.

The mission of the Rothesay Yacht Club (RYC) is to provide a safe, welcoming, and family-friendly environment that encourages the sport of sailing through education, skills development, competition, and fellowship.
Established in 1907, the RYC is one of the oldest yacht clubs in Atlantic Canada. From the beginning, our members have shared a passion for sailing and community. The founding goals remain true today: to promote seamanship, racing, water safety, and fellowship on the beautiful Kennebecasis River. Over more than a century, the club has evolved from a modest riverside gathering place into a vibrant sailing hub.
Our members have worked together to improve the harbour, property, and clubhouse, while staying rooted in our proud maritime traditions. The RYC is home to a diverse membership of sailors and boaters of all ages and skill levels—from beginners learning the ropes in our sailing school to seasoned racers competing in regattas across the region. Members enjoy weekly race nights, annual regattas, social gatherings, and access to reciprocal privileges through Sail Canada and other yacht clubs worldwide.
As a volunteer-driven club, the RYC thrives on the contributions and camaraderie of its members. Beyond sailing, our club fosters a sense of family and friendship—where generations gather on the docks, on the water, and in the clubhouse to share in the joy of boating and community.Proud of our 118-year heritage, the Rothesay Yacht Club remains committed to sailing, fellowship, and the preservation of our beautiful waterfront for generations to come.
